Aside from the detailled design of composite structures for airloads, there exists some challenges for aircraft panels by spectators and other curious people, which are used to look with the fingers instead of the eyes. This leads to some higher strength demand for sandwich panels, which range in the realm of 5 kg per thumb.
The wing is composed of three 4.5 m long sections. One central wing with flaps/breaks and the complete control-box with main bellcrank, mixers and push rods for flaps, breaks and ailerons. And the outer Wings with ailerons. There is no joining of spars at the place of greatest bending moments. The wing sweep optimizes the CG's of Pilot, airframe and the combination of them during flight.
The parts for elevator and rudder are identical and made of standard plate and tube material. All bearings are maintenance free. The main coupling part consists of a simple
machined rectangular aluminium profile with one safety quick pin.
The three stab surfaces are absolutely identical and interchangeable.
Schematics of the main control and mixing unit as an example of the art of lean design applied throughout the complete airframe. This unit contains the controls for flaps and breaks, ailerons and corresponding mixers for flaps/ailerons and break/elevator. The unit is made with a minimum amount of parts. Just four bellcranks, some aluminium tubes and ball joints. The control stick for the flaps and breaks is mounted directly on the left push rod, this going straight to the flap. The only coupling between the right stick, which is mounted in the fuselage, and the unit, are the ailerons. The rudder is controled via sidestick and pedals.
